Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis, or heel peen in general, may start with pain first thing in the morning. You might dread that first step when you get out of bed, feeling a hobbling pain during the first few steps. Over time, the pain may ease a little, but after being on your feet for a while, the discomfort can return.

For instance, after a day at work, when you sit down on the couch, you might start anticipating that pain again. This sounds very much like the symptoms associated with plantar fasciitis, which causes pain at the bottom of the heel.

What is Plantar Fasciitis ?

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain, particularly felt on the bottom of the heel. It occurs when the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot, becomes irritated or inflamed. The pain often starts in the morning with the first painful step out of bed and can worsen after prolonged periods of standing or sitting. It can be caused by increased physical activity, especially if you have suddenly ramped up exercise instead of gradually increasing intensity. Overuse, improper footwear, or even being on your feet for long hours can contribute to developing this condition

Over time, the pain may get worse if left untreated, affecting your ability to stay active or perform everyday tasks.
